About Scott Welner
Scott is in his 21st year as a practicing attorney in Florida, with his entire career comprised of civil litigation on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. His diverse litigation practice includes complex civil litigation, commercial and real estate litigation, contract litigation, and professional negligence. Scott also represents buyers and sellers in a wide variety of real estate disputes, including seller’s disclosure matters, breach of contract, fraud and misrepresentation. Additionally, Scott has a wealth of experience representing and advising corporate entities across a multitude of legal issues. Scott prides himself upon an aggressive, yet expeditious and economical approach to resolving legal issues for his clients.
Scott’s legal career began as a litigator for the statewide insurance defense firm of Conroy Simberg in its West Palm Beach office, handling matters from Fort Pierce to Miami. Scott was able to parlay this experience into an opportunity to join the up-and-coming firm of Shendell & Pollock, located in Boca Raton, where Scott spent several years representing lawyers, doctors, accountants, architects, appraisers, and real estate and title agents against claims of professional negligence.
In 2012, Scott and his family moved to Florida’s Emerald Coast, where he began working in the Pensacola office of one of the largest law firms in Florida, Cole Scott & Kissane. There, Scott represented individuals, businesses and professionals in all matters of complex civil litigation. Scott has also practiced in Shalimar with Chesser & Barr, where he acted as senior litigation counsel.
Scott is proud to have received an English degree from the University of Florida, where he graduated with honors in 1998. In 2001, Scott received his juris doctor from the Florida State University College of Law. While earning his law degree, Scott interned for the Enforcement Division of the New York Stock Exchange and in the antitrust division of the Office of the Florida Attorney General.
In his spare time, Scott enjoys spending as much time as possible with his two teenage sons, visiting with friends and family, following college and professional football, and playing board games.
